Schwimmschule Zürich is the largest swimming school in the city of Zurich. We teach babies from three months, children, teenagers and adults at 13 pools across every district – so there is almost always a course near your home. Entry to the pool is included in the course fee.
Our children's courses follow the official Swimsports Switzerland levels 1–7, the nationally recognised Swiss swimming badges. Families who have just moved to Zurich are very welcome.

Not sure which course fits? Write to us in English – we will find a place for you and handle the registration.
Courses are taught in German. In practice this is rarely a problem: swimming is learned by watching and doing, the instructions are short and repeat every lesson, and most children follow along within two or three sessions. Many families tell us the course became their child's easiest first contact with German. If a child gets stuck, our instructors will help out in English.
Adult beginners: if you would prefer to be taught in English, tell us when you get in touch and we will take it into account when placing you.
Our Courses
Baby Swimming
Gentle water familiarisation together with a parent, in warm water of 34 °C at our EPI Stiftung pool in Zurich-Seefeld.
Parent & Child
Playful first steps in the water with mum or dad, building confidence before children start learning on their own.
Children – Levels 1–7
The official Swimsports badges from Crab to Polar Bear: breathing, floating, gliding and all four strokes, step by step.
Technique
For children who can already swim and want to refine front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Adults
Beginners welcome – including if you are afraid of the water. Also technique training for adults who want to swim better.
Mermaid Birthday Party
Swimming with a mermaid tail – a birthday party your child will not forget.
Prices & course structure
One course block covers 11 lessons and costs CHF 420 for children and teenagers, CHF 695 for adults. Entry to the pool is included in the price. Depending on your provider, Swiss health insurance may cover part of the cost – it is worth asking them.
Courses run in three terms per year – roughly August to November, November to March and March to July – plus intensive courses during the summer holidays, where children swim every day for a week. You will find the current dates in the course calendar.
Where we teach
We run courses at 13 pools across Zurich: Affoltern, Höngg, Schwamendingen, Seebach, Oerlikon, Seefeld, Witikon, Wipkingen, Albisrieden and Friesenberg. See all locations with addresses for the pool closest to you.
